After a chance meeting in 2002 I joined the jewellery trade which introduced me to the wonderful world of Jewellery, Gemstones & Valuing. I was so fascinated by the gemstones and how they formed deep within the Earth and the skill of those that can take a piece of precious metal and turn it into an item of beauty that I decided to learn more and become a fully qualified jewellery valuer.
I have attained the following qualifications FGA (Fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain), DGA (Diamond Member of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain), PJ (Dip) (Professional Jewellers Diploma). I have successfully completed the Gem-A Advanced Diamond Grading course and the GIA Pearl Grading course. In 2012 I was selected as one of the four pilot students for the new Certificate of Appraisal Theory (CAT) programme successfully passing the examination later that year. I attained my MIRV in 2013 upgrading to FIRV in 2015 before joining the Jewellery Valuers Associaton and becoming a FJVA in 2020.
